Introduction
JobMargin LLC ("JobMargin", "we", "us") operates the JobMargin platform at app.jobmargin.io and jobmargin.io. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
Information We Collect
- Account information: name, email, phone number, business name, address
- Business data: customer information, estimates, invoices, job details, financial data entered by you
- Payment information: processed securely by Stripe — we do not store credit card numbers
- Usage data: how you interact with the platform, device information, browser type
- Communications: phone numbers provided by service contractors for their customers, used solely for transactional service-related messaging
How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate the JobMargin platform
- Send transactional SMS messages on behalf of service contractors to their customers (estimate notifications, appointment confirmations, invoice delivery, service completion updates, review requests)
- Send email notifications related to your account and services
- Process subscription payments
- Improve our platform and develop new features
- Provide customer support
SMS Messaging
- JobMargin sends transactional SMS messages on behalf of registered service contractors to their customers
- Messages are related to services requested by the customer including estimates, scheduling confirmations, invoices, completion notifications, and review requests
- Message frequency varies based on service activity, typically 1-5 messages per service transaction
- Message and data rates may apply
- Customers can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message
- For help, reply HELP to any message
- Phone numbers collected for SMS are used solely for service-related transactional messaging and are never sold, shared for marketing purposes, or used for promotional messaging

Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Stripe: payment processing (stripe.com/privacy)
- Twilio: SMS messaging (twilio.com/legal/privacy)
- SendGrid: email delivery (sendgrid.com/policies/privacy)
- Google Firebase: data storage and hosting (firebase.google.com/support/privacy)
- Intuit QuickBooks: accounting sync (intuit.com/privacy)
- Google Maps/Places: address lookup (policies.google.com/privacy)
- Anthropic: AI-powered features (anthropic.com/privacy)
Data Security
- All data transmitted over HTTPS encryption
- Firestore security rules enforce data isolation between accounts
- Authentication required for all data access
- No employee has access to your business data without your permission
Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active
- Cancelled accounts retain data in read-only mode for reactivation
- You can request data deletion by contacting support@jobmargin.io
- Deleted data is removed within 30 days
SMS and Mobile Information
Mobile Information and SMS Consent
Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
When a service contractor adds a customer's phone number to the JobMargin platform, the initial service estimate is delivered via email. SMS consent is collected when the customer views and accepts the service estimate. At the time of acceptance, the customer is shown the following disclosure:
"By accepting this estimate, you consent to receive transactional text messages from [Contractor Name] via JobMargin related to your service, including appointment confirmations, scheduling updates, and invoice notifications. Message frequency varies (1-5 per service transaction). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Reply HELP for help."
All subsequent SMS messages — including scheduling updates, invoice notifications, and review requests — are only sent to customers who have provided consent. Customers may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message.
SMS consent status is tracked per customer and is visible to the service contractor in their customer profile. Consent may be revoked at any time by the customer (via STOP) or by the contractor (via their account settings).
